Shannon Robinson, MA, LPCC, DBTC
Feeling stuck and frustrated trying to manage your symptoms of anxiety and depression? You have tried EVERYTHING and NOTHING is working. Your sleep is out of wack, motivation for healthy diet and exercise is low and medications don't seem to be working like they used to. Stressors such as relationship conflicts and life transitions are too much to cope with. You're irritable and sometimes do not even want to be around anyone. Those around you are noticing and relationships are being negatively impacted. You just can't seem to get a handle on life these days.
Things can be different, better, you can have the life you imagine for yourself. As humans we are not meant to deal with life on our own and it's ok to get help navigating these challenges. I will help guide you on this path of self discovery and recovery.
Together we'll create a treatment plan that helps you understand what coping skills and life changes work for you and how to implement them in a way that will last. You have the skills needed to make the changes you want. I am here to help you strengthen them.
I chose a career in counseling not only because I have a passion for helping others, but also because I believe that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their lives with the right skills, resources and support. I feel my role as a therapist is to walk this journey of recovery with you (my client); to help guide you through your recovery process and into living a
life that is meaningful to you.
During our therapy sessions the following strategies, techniques and interventions may be incorporated: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and yogic concepts and theory. I believe in whole person integrative care and therefore we may have discussions about nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene and time management. If appropriate I will refer out to holistic and alternative medicine providers in order to aide in your healing process. I may also consult with any existing providers to ensure you are receiving the best care possible and avoid duplication of services.

education & Training
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of MN (lic. # 1648). I obtained
my masters in Counseling and Psychology from Saint Mary’s University in 2015. I also have a
Masters in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. My
practicum was completed at Park Avenue Center, which is a residential and outpatient Mental
Illness and Chemical Dependency (MICD) treatment center. My supervision hours were
completed at MHS doing DBT outpatient group programming with adults and adolescents as
well as individual therapy.
In addition to my licensee I am also certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBTC) and plan to
obtain my Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification in the next year in order to be able to
incorporate more knowledge based yogic therapy into my practice. I believe in the importance
of continued learning in order to stay up to date on best practices as well as expanding my
knowledge of interventions and techniques that may be helpful to my clients.
